Am I buying direct from the farm?

We are a real working farm where we rear and produce most of our online products here on our 250 acre organic farm, some produce is sourced live from our organic partner farms where we select livestock reared to exacting standards and agree an above market price to ensure we trade fairly. We have a farm shop and visitors are welcome to have a look around and meet some of the animals as we pride ourselves in our organic farming heritage and family history that stretches back 500 years. Make sure when buying online that the farm you are buying from is open to visits and welcomes people to experience the farming world at first hand, there are a number of online traders that hide behind a farm website and operate from premises other than a farm.


Education

Free School and Group Visits


We now host between 250 and 300 educational school and group visits every year where pupils and other educational groups can learn about sustainable and organic agriculture as well as how food is produced at farm level. Gate to plate tours take in all areas of the farm from young-stock to the milking parlour and for the smaller (and not so small) ones we set the ice cream maker going before we leave the education centre which means we have delicious home made ice cream at lunch time. A great experience seeing the whole process of real food transform before your eyes.

Our Community Interest Care farm Growing Project

The gazegill education project offers day activities for adults with mental health illnesses and work place based growing experience in our herb and edible flower poly tunnels and growing area. Life skills are taught and our participants love seeing the fruits of their labour from seed to pumpkin or whatever else we have grown. 


Location

Where is your farm?

We are based in the Ribble Valley, near Clitheroe. The farm sits in the shadow of Pendle Hill made infamous by the 1612 Pendle witches trial, the hill (a few feet shy of mountain status) dominates our skyline and even influences our weather, in fact local folklore says that if you can see Pendle it is about to rain and if you cant then it is raining...

The nearest cities are Bradford, Leeds, Manchester & Preston.

Shipping

How much can I fit in a single box?

Our boxes allow you to fit 15kg in each one, by using these insulated boxes and leaving some room for ice packs, we are able to protect and properly insulate your delivery, ensuring it reaches you in the best condition possible. We have the facility to ship up to 4 boxes in one consignment and this additional space is included in our free delivery option, please call us on 01200 445519 if you need to discuss if something will fit into the box or we send multiple boxes at no extra charge.


How long does shipping take?

We use an overnight courier service, if the order is placed before 09:00 we will package it that day and it should arrive on the following day before 16:00 as long as all items are in stock. Any order containing chicken will dispatch on a Wednesday or a Thursday only as the chicken only comes back to us on a Wednesday - orders made from Friday onwards will ship on the following Wednesday (Thursday if Monday is a Bank Holiday) - If you need an urgent dispatch of particular items please call us on 01200 445519 and we will try and bring your order forward.

Orders other than chicken placed Friday through the weekend will be dispatched on Monday for a Tuesday delivery. If you have a specific day you would like an order to land please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Can I track my Order?

We are currently working with our delivery partners to provide more real-time information about your delivery and the estimated time of arrival. If you are concerned please call us on 01200 445519 or if it is out of hours and we are out on the farm please SMS Ian on 07980 817880 and we will be able to supply you with a consignment number and a free-phone number or we will make this call for you.

My Order has Arrived Damaged, what should i do?

With the best will in the world something can always go awry. If your order has landed with you and is damaged please do not reject it, rather sign for it stating it is damaged, next take some pictures for us and email them to orders@gazegillorganics.co.uk or MMS them to Ian on 07980 817880 and we will start to sort the matter. If the box is damaged and the contents are fine and cold please still send us the pictures and enjoy your purchase. In the event of the items exceeding safe temperature please follow the steps above and we will get a replacement order out to you at the earliest opportunity. We will never see a customer out of pocket for something that happens outside of their control.


Where do you deliver to?

We deliver anywhere in the mainland UK, a small surcharge applies for the Scottish Highlands. A list of these  postcodes is available but please call as these do change and we are normally able to cover the additional charge on orders that exceed £50

What is the difference between Raw Milk and Whole Milk?

Both Raw and Whole milk are ‘whole milk’. The difference is that Raw milk is not run through a pasteurisation process, it is simply chilled. Our raw milk is not homogenised, it is straight from the cow and bottled on-site. The good bacteria are normally removed by the process of Pasteurisation so raw organic milk contains not only higher levels of omega 3 fatty acids but all the pro-biotic bacteria needed for a healthy gut. Raw milk can only be sold from a licensed premises and the testing we undertake ensures we only have the good bacteria in the milk, our children drink it so it has to be the best...


Do you also sell...

Pigs Blood

We do sell pigs blood for making black pudding and this is a specialty request, the blood is frozen by us and we need about a weeks notice.

Butter

We currently only sell organic pasteurised butter, a lot of our customers buy our raw double heavy cream and make butter at home - a surprisingly simple and very satisfying process.

Raw Double Cream

Why is the cream so often out of stock?

Raw double cream is one of our best sellers and we run short every week, if you are awaiting this to come back into stock please either enter your email address in this section whereby we will email you when stock is replenished or drop us a line at orders@gazegillorganics.co.uk and we will put you onto the cream list as a priority 

Subscriptions

Can i add other products to my milk subscription? 

In a word, yes. Either place an order online and make a note in the comments section to add to the milk delivery or email us what you are wanting to orders@gazegillorganics.co.uk and we will sort this for you. Payment can be taken over the phone or we can send you a PayPal request.

Does Gazegill Organics sell through any third party websites?

In brief, No. We advertise on sites such as Natural Food Finder and we have products listed with Masterchef Giftcard but these orders are made direct to us. If someone os offering Gazegill Organic Produce please let us know! Any information you provide to us where someone is claiming to sell our goods without our knowledge will be dealt with in confidence and there might just be a little gift in the offing for your trouble...
