Sirloin is one of our favourite meats to cook because it is hard to get wrong yet its flavour is hard to beat. 198g is a healthy portion of steak for one person, it will leave you feeling satisfied alongside a selection of sides of your choice!
Our sirloin has a nice thick edge of fat running down one side of the cut, this adds to the flavour during the cooking process as the heat melts the marbled fat throughout the piece of meat and the end result is a decadent slab! Whether pan fried or grilled with or without sauce these two sirloin steaks are a real treat served with homemade chips cooked in goose fat. A special but super-fast meal. We hang and mature each cut to the optimum timescale and know that it will arrive in perfect condition for cooking to your liking. Our organic beef is grass-fed on the upland pastures of Pennine Lancashire and North Yorkshire, a fantastic mix of herbs gives our beef a unique flavour and being grass-fed they naturally contain more omega 3 fatty acids and of course flavour.

This steak has a thick edge of fat on one side and it is also marbled throughout the cut. The fat renders down beautifully to produce a rich-tasting mouthful, Tom enhanced this by using rosemary for its sweet delicate flavour and balanced it with the salt of the butter, whilst the spice of the garlic cuts through the two.
Chargrilled Rib Eye
Prep Time: 3 Minutes
Cook Time: 6 Minutes Medium-Rare 8 Minutes for Medium to well done
Rest Time: 6 minutes
Total Time = 15 mins
- 2x 200g Gazegill Organics Grass-fed Sirloin
- 1tbsp Vegetable oil
- Table Salt
- Sprig of rosemary (Optional)
- A couple of crushed garlic cloves (Optional)
- Half a block of butter
Tom's How to:
Heat a hotplate/griddle so that it turns a shade of grey and is almost smoking hot.
Coat the meat with a drop of oil. You don’t want to saturate it.
From a height, season the steak with salt and pepper.
Heat a pan and melt half a block of butter, option to add dried rosemary & crushed gloves of garlic here.
Using tongs, place the steak on the hot plate/griddle pan. Sear the steak for 30 seconds and turn it, so that all sides brown.
Transfer steak to the pan of melting butter, garlic & rosemary. Using a spoon, regularly coat/ baste the meat with the butter.
Cook in pan for 4-5 minutes for medium-rare & a minute or two longer for medium-well done.
Once the meat is cooked to preference, remove the steak from the pan & leave it to rest (do not cover) for 6 minutes.
Serve with a sauce of your choice & a selection of sides.
