The steak box contains two 7oz trimmed fillet steaks from our organic grass fed beef, two 8oz sirloin steaks, two 8oz rump steaks and four frying steaks – the steak box contains a selection of steaks that are succulent and tasty, pan fried with or without a sauce. Great with home made chips in goose fat… These steaks are from our organic beef Shorthorns or organic Hereford cattle, two breeds that convert beautiful wild grasses into stunning beef, enjoy… The steak box is a great way to try a selection of steak cuts, whatever your preference in the way you like your steak cooked we hang and mature each cut to the optimum timescale and know that it will arrive in perfect condition for cooking to your liking. Our beef is grass fed on the upland pastures of Pennine Lancashire and North Yorkshire, a fantastic mix of herbs gives our beef a unique flavour and being grass fed they naturally contain more omega 3 fatty acids and of course flavour. Slowly and naturally grown on grass rather than concentrate fed the flavour is worlds apart from the quick grown and protein raised alternative.
A good marbling of fat distributed throughout the steak adds flavour especially when char-grilled, whether it is steak garni or with a sauce our tender and succulent steaks in the steak box are a real treat. A great sauce recipe… 2 shallots finely diced and one clove of garlic crushed to a paste gently fried in a generous knob of butter until clear, add a good glass of white wine, a little stock, a teaspoon of English mustard and reduce by half – once reduced crumble in some creamy blue cheese and add a generous glug of cream and a little seasoning, heat through without boiling and serve, for a really peppery alternative omit the blue cheese and replace with a little lancashire or medium cheddar and grind loads of black pepper in (try our imported hand picked and sun dried peppercorns) Enjoy…
