Delivery FAQs

What days do you deliver?

We dispatch orders Monday to Thursday, and deliver Tuesday to Friday. Orders placed between Thursday and Sunday will not be dispatched until the following Monday at the earliest (unless there is a bank holiday).

When will my order arrive?

1. Butcher, pack & dispatch – once we have received your order, we aim to butcher, pack and dispatch it within 1-2 working days (excluding Fridays).

2. Temporary stock shortages – if we've had a large number of overnight orders for certain products, we may need to hold your order back by 24-48 hours. If we can't send an item for more than 48 hours, we'll contact you to ask if you'd like the rest of your order sent.

3. We'll email you when it's on the way – you'll receive a dispatch email when your order leaves our butchery & dairy. If you haven't received it, we've had to hold your order because one of the items is still being made.

4. End-of-week and weekend orders – orders received Thursday to Sunday are dispatched the following Monday at the earliest. Orders placed late on Sunday will likely be dispatched on Tuesday.

What time will my delivery arrive?

APC will text you on the morning of delivery with a two-hour time slot. You don't need to be in, as APC can leave your box in a safe place if you specified one when ordering.

How are orders packaged?

We deliver your order in temperature-controlled boxes which are 100% biodegradable and contain ice packs. Every order is packed to stay fridge fresh for up to 48 hours in transit, even in summer weather.

We test our packaging to make sure it performs, so a two-day transit is perfectly fine. If your delivery takes an extra day, or you've chosen a 2-5 day postcode where most orders arrive within two days, your order will still arrive in great condition.

Which courier do you use, and what if my delivery is delayed?

We use APC because they're the best courier we've worked with. The vast majority of our orders arrive the next day, exactly as planned, and APC will text you on the morning of delivery with a two-hour time slot.

As with any courier, delays can happen on rare occasions for reasons outside our control, such as bad weather or depot issues. That's exactly why we pack every order to stay fresh for up to 48 hours: if your delivery arrives a day late, it will still be fridge fresh. If you have any concerns about your delivery, please get in touch and we'll be happy to help.

Which postcodes count as the Scottish Highlands?

Scottish Highlands – Next Day:
AB10-16, AB21-25, DD8-11, FK7-16, KY99, PH3-13, PH15-18

Orders to these postcodes are sent on APC's next day delivery service.

Scottish Highlands – 2-5 Day:
AB30-36, AB39, AB41-42, AB51-54, FK17-21, IV1-20, IV23-25, IV30-32, IV36, IV63, PA21-38, PA80, PH19-26, PH30-41, PH49-50

Orders to these postcodes are sent on a 2-5 day transit. The vast majority arrive within two days, and we pack all orders to stay fresh for up to 48 hours in transit. However, owing to the uncertain nature of this transit, we cannot accept responsibility for goods arriving in a sub-optimal condition, and orders to these postcodes are placed at your own risk.

Why does delivery cost more to the Scottish Highlands?

Our courier charges significantly more to deliver to non-mainland postcodes, and which areas count as non-mainland is set by the courier, not by us. It isn't financially viable for us to fully cover these extra charges. Many similar businesses won't send to these postcodes at all, but we'd rather give you the option of paying the extra than stop delivering to these areas altogether.

Where do you not deliver?

As we send perishable goods, we can't deliver to areas our courier can't reach within two days. We are unable to deliver to the following postcodes:

AB37-38, AB43-45, AB55-56, HS1-9, IV21-22, IV26-28, IV40-49, IV51-56, KA27-28, KW1-17, PA20, PA41-49, PA60-78, PH42-44, ZE1-3, IM1-99 (Isle of Man), BT1-94 (Northern Ireland), JE1-5 & GY1-10 (Channel Islands), PO30-41 (Isle of Wight)

Why do you charge for delivery on smaller orders?

We keep courier charges as low as we can without taking a financial loss. Every order is sent chilled, on a next day service, in insulated packaging with ice packs, and external factors such as courier fuel surcharges and packaging price increases mean we aren't always able to absorb this cost on smaller orders.

Can I collect my order?

Yes. If you'd like to collect from our farm shop, please call or email us your order with at least two working days' notice, so we can make sure everything is available and prepared fresh on the day. Please do not place your order on our website, as it will be dispatched via courier.
